Two mass shootings have happened in the span of a week. Expectedly, firearm regulations have flared up….“Never let a good crisis go to waste.” That seems to be an unfortunate rule of politics. With two terrible shootings occurring very close in time to one another, there has been a renewed effort among Democratic politicians to further the gun control agenda commonly associated with the Democratic Party.

The citizens of Lubbock will vote on May 1st, 2021 on the citizens of Lubbock adopting an ordinance which would immediately outlaw abortion within the city limits of Lubbock, Texas. “We, as a community, wanted to be a voice for the voiceless.” Mayor Mitchell Woody said this as his city, Grapeland, Texas, became the 18th city to pass a “Sanctuary City for the Unborn” ordinance. As of Monday January 25th, 2021, abortion was outlawed within the city limits of Grapeland. favor, none against, and one abstention. None of the councilmen nor citizens of Grapeland spoke against the ordinance. The Sanctuary City for the Unborn movement, spearheaded by Mark Lee Dickson, seeks to capitalize upon Texas towns’ ability to enact ordinances which regulate or prohibit abortion.
